Abstract Submission Instructions and Guidelines

General guidelines for abstract preparation:
Fill all fields in the abstract form as follow:

Abstracts from medical students enrolled at any medical school in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are accepted. However, abstracts from residents and postgraduates are only accepted if they are enrolled at King Abdulaziz University (KAU).

The abstracts that belong to a non-KAU student must be from a published research.

The work must be supervised by a faculty member or a consultant physician at the medical school.

All submissions are in English only.

A student may not participate in more than two submissions as a primary applicant. Failure to comply will result in the automatic disqualification of all submissions by the applicant.

Ethical approval from an officially registered committee must be obtained and attached to the application (this requirement does not apply to systematic reviews or case studies).

Ongoing research and incomplete studies are not accepted.

To complete the submission and meet any required modifications from the Scientific Committee within the specified timeframe. Failure to comply will result in the disqualification of the application.

Plagiarism should not exceed 20%.

The work should be original and provide valuable scientific information/data.

To register the information of the entire participating group.

The Scientific Committee determines the course of participation (oral presentation or research poster).

General body text:​

The abstract must not exceed 300 words.
-
The abstract must follow either the common scientific flow: Introduction, materials and methods, results, conclusion, OR the flow of case reports (please see next point).

Abstracts for case reports must include an introduction and context, the case, discussion, and conclusion and outcome. The focus is relevance for others.

Subheading titles do not need to be included in the abstract.

If included, place each subheading on a single line without body text; use a double space between the previous text and the subheading; and no blank line between the heading and the following text.

Tables and figures are not recommended during the submission but are highly encouraged during the conference presentation.

Disclaimer: The Scientific Committee holds the right to modify the guidelines to the conference's best interest. The committee has also the right to disregard any submission at any phase if found unable to address its concern or found to perform misconduct in any means.
